Visas

A visa is a federal authorization for foreign visitors to get into Brazil on trips for diplomatic or official purposes, tourism, business and participation in events.

Travel/Business Visas (short term);

They are used for short-term, recreational or business trips without the intent to immigrate. Holders of theses visas are not allowed to engage in any paid activity. Multiple entries into the country are authorized, so long as no stay exceeds 90 days, extendable for another 90 days, provided that the limit of 180 days is not exceeded in any period of 12 months. They are valid for five years. A travel/business visa cannot be turned into a permanent visa.

Temporary Visa (period of 2 years)

It is the visa for students and scientists, teachers, technicians and other foreign professionals or workers under employment agreements or at the service of the Brazilian Government.

Permanent Visa

It entitles an alien to live and work in Brazil indefinitely.
